Creating a buzz at London Fashion Week

Bees have been hitting the catwalk at London Fashion Week!

Occasionally, my job involves working with people who want to help raise funds for BBCT in exciting and interesting ways. Artists, authors, poets and gardeners have been helping us for a while, but this week we have dipped our toes into fashion after we heard from prop stylist extraordinaire, Fred Butler, who wanted to design and sell a piece to raise money for us and raise the profile of the Trust.

In support of the Trust, Fred has designed an exclusive key-chain, with all profits going to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Priced at £8, it’s a chance to own something by this pivotal British designer responsible for some of the most iconic fashion imagery of the past decade. Get in touch with Fred Butler by emailing to order your key chain.

Fred says “Just because bees are small we shouldn’t overlook them. We need bees to pollinate plants to eat, and especially within an urban environment we’re so detached from nature and used to picking up our food in plastic containers that we lose track of where it comes from. Bees are a crucial part of everybody’s lives and it’s important for me to be a part of making this known.”

*Due to demand in The Fred Butler studio where all pieces are made in Britain by hand, please be aware that there could be some delay in receiving your key-chain.

If you feel inspired to raise funds for us in any way, visit the fundraising part of our website or get in touch with us on for more information.
