Talk in Renfrewshire

We will be delivering our a talk to the Renfrewshire RSPB group, which will introduce bumblebees, the reasons for their declines, and discuss some of the ways in which we can help them. This talk is open to non-members, so feel free to come along!

Coffee morning at Chenies Manor House

Join the people at Chenies Manor House for a coffee morning and a talk on the 'Plight of the Bumblebee'. You'll also be able to tour the beautiful gardens around the house, and hopefully spot some fresh bumblebee queens.

Entry is £5, which includes coffee, cake, and entry to the gardens. Proceeds will be donated to Bumblebee conservation Trust. Tickets can be purchased by emailing: oakfield24@hotmail.co.uk, or calling  01494 873143. Please purchase tickets in advance, as large demand is expected.

Talk on bumblebee ecology and behaviour

With RSPB and Bumblebee Conservation Trust

A workshop aimed at beginners that will give an introduction to these fascinating insects including their lifecycle, habitat requirements and what we can do to help them in our own gardens. It will also include a short guide to identification of the six most common species you are likely to see, and also some of the rarer species found in Wiltshire. We will then walk around the RSPB Winterbourne Down reserve to have a go at identifying bumblebees in the field.

Volunteer training workshops

Sign up now! We will be holding six training days across the UK between April and July to introduce people to the various volunteering opportunities that exist with the Trust. Each day has a maximum capacity of 30 people so early registration is recommended.



If you want to do something to help bumblebees but don’t know where to start then this is the event for you. Or perhaps you have volunteered with us in the past but want to explore new opportunities, well we would love for you to come along too.

Big Wild Garden Day, Stafford

Gardens can be wonderful habitats for wildlife, so come along to the Big Wild Garden Day at the Wolseley Centre to hear how you can make your garden better for bumblebees, amongst other things. Also on the bill are South Staffordshire Beekeepers, Butterfly Conservation, Staffordshire Bat Group, Plantlife, Buglife and Friends of the Earth.
