Does anyone know how long worker bumble’s live?

Has there been any research on this subject?

Also when their natural time comes, does anyone know what mechanism actually kills the bees? A bit morbid i know but everytime i see a dying bumble or a dead one, i do get upset and it made me think of these things.

After they hatch out (from egg to adult something like 4 - 5 weeks), I think it’s somewhere in the range 2 - 5 weeks, depending on species.

For the most part they simply wear-out.
