Just wanted to post these couple of photos of flies, recently seen in the garden, that look a bit like bees. I know there are others that are even better mimics, like the black & yellow hover fly (volucella bombylans) and the light brown (Merodon equestris) that looks a bit like a common carder; but my wife thinks the ones below are pretty good mimics as well…..Would love to see what others have seen!
