Hi, we picked up a very cold and tired looking B.Terrestris on Saturday morning, since, we’ve wined and dined her in the hope that she’ll spring back into life and fly off. She livened up after a while once she warmed up and had a good feed.
Yesterday we tried her on a few bushes popular with foragers but to no avail. She’s tried flying a wee bit but just seems to give up! Any ideas? Also she appears to be “scratching” alot, back legs and abdomen mainly although there is no sign of any mites at all!?

 

     

I don’t have the answer, but I have witnessed the same behaviour & posted a thread on here called Bumblebee Mental Health. I hope we can find an answer to this!
ETA, maybe it’s the result of ingesting a pesticide?
