Hi all,

I’d be grateful if someone could tell this newbie what this bee is, my guess is Bombus Pascuorum, I photographed it in Preston, Lancs.

Kind Regards

Mark

Hello

You are absolutely right.
A nice fluffy Common carder bee Bombus pascuorum.

The colouration on the abdomen can be quite variable but in England they often have mainly black abdomens with ginger tails. Yours has a few other tufts of ginger.
