Cuckoo again ???

These shots were taken on 29th June. I had several of these bees feeding on a variety of plants. Could anyone confirm the ID for me, I was thinking Gypsy cuckoo bee?? I will post a couple of other shots in the reply box. My files are too big to post all in the one post.

And another one, they were feeding on polemonium, chives, and centaura. Hope someone can confirm smile

Hi Lougo,

This looks more like a male Southern cuckoo bee. The yellow bands of that species are more vivid than those of the Gypsy cuckoo, but it can be very difficult to separate them sometimes.

Would you mind if we put it in the newsletter?
